We are back at it! Two exhausting days of procedures and getting to know each other. :)
This is the page to see what is happening for the week. Check here weekly. You will also be able to check your child's grades weekly in Progress Book. That information is coming soon from the Tech Department. I will try to give you a heads up when it is sent. Sometimes parents don't realize what it is and discard it.
Gym will be on Tuesday (blue day). Remember your tennis shoes.
We will begin formal instruction in both Reading and Math. Reading begins with a Getting Started story. The students will NOT be tested on it. We are learning our routines. Expect a Reading Log to come home. This is not something I require every single day, but...the more you read, the more you know! Students will also earn a special incentive when they finish each reading log.
No Spelling list with this Getting Started story. Our first Spelling list will come home Friday to go with our next story. Check this page for upcoming tests.
Math begins with Chapter 7 (Rounding). Expect Math homework, sprinkled with some Reading, Monday through Thursday. I am not a fan of weekend homework. Reports may require some weekend work, but ample time will be given to complete them. We will have a Country Report in December and a President Report in February.
Finally, I am excited for a great year! I will do my best to help your child be the best he or she can be. Thank you in advance for your help at home. It truly takes a village.
